Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Dedupify (the “App”) and the dedupify.app website (the “Site”) handle information. Dedupify searches your phone for duplicate photos and calendar events to help free up space. Dedupify is produced by Foobar Creative. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling information responsibly.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Support requests: If you contact us, we collect the information you provide (such as your email address and message content) so we can respond.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- App diagnostics and usage: The App may collect non-personally identifiable information such as device locale, app version, operating system version, identifiers, usage data, and crash logs to help us improve performance and fix issues.
- Purchases: If you make an in-app purchase or subscription, Apple processes the payment. We receive confirmation of your purchase status and may receive information needed to validate purchases, but we do not receive your payment card details. Purchases may be linked to your identity, while identifiers, usage data, and diagnostics may be collected but are not linked to you.
- Site analytics (if enabled): The Site may collect standard log information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) and/or use cookies for analytics.
1.3 Content access inside the App
Dedupify requests access to your Photos library and Calendars so it can find duplicates and let you review and delete them. Any deletion happens only when you confirm it.
1.4 Information from third parties
We may use third-party service providers (such as analytics or crash reporting tools) to help us understand usage and improve the App. These providers may process data described above on our behalf.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate the App and Site.
- Improve functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Respond to support requests.
- Understand usage trends and fix bugs.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With trusted service providers who help us operate and improve the App or Site, and who are bound to protect it.
- With Apple for processing in-app purchases and subscriptions.
- When required by law, regulation, or legal process.
4. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as needed to provide the App or Site, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Support emails are retained for customer service purposes and can be deleted upon request.
5. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- Revoke permissions for Photos or Calendars in iOS settings. Note that doing so may limit App functionality.
- Access or delete your personal information by contacting us.
- Manage subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings.
If you are in Australia, we are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and you may have additional rights under that law.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Changes apply only to information collected after the effective date of the change.
7. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to request access or deletion of your information, please contact us via the support email listed in the App or on the Site.
